Payments into your wallet are paused

WalletWallet holders·Updated

When a wallet key is reported lost or stolen, Swaps stops opening new ways to pay into that wallet. Bank details and links you already shared keep receiving until Swaps support freezes them. A deposit address you already shared can keep receiving after that, so ask people not to use it. Send keeps working.

What you see

Add money and Receive show “paused”. Your wallet’s home and Receive say “This wallet’s key was reported lost. Don’t send funds here.” Swaps shows that line after a stolen report and during the 24-hour check too.

Bank details, payment links and crypto payments say “Payments in are paused” or, after a stolen report, “Payments in are being frozen”.

What still happens

The pause moves no money and costs nothing. It doesn’t stop money going out: whoever has your wallet key can still move it. If it may be stolen, move your money now.

A transfer sent straight to your address on Tempo can’t be stopped, so ask people not to send to it. Anyone who sets up a new payment to your wallet through Swaps sees “This address can’t take this transfer” and is asked to use another address. They aren’t told why.

Who pauses it

Swaps support records a key as lost only on your own case, after checking it’s you. A stolen key is reported with your backup key. If your backup key can’t, Swaps support pauses payments in by recording the key as lost.

How payments in reopen after a lost key

  • You found your wallet key. Open Wallet options, choose “Check wallet key” (it moves nothing), then contact Swaps support. Swaps lifts the pause only after a signature by that key.
  • You got back in with your backup key. You sign “I lost it — no one else has it.” Payments in then wait up to 24 hours for a Swaps check; Swaps shows the reopen time in UTC. Swaps can reopen them sooner, or keep them closed.

Bank details or links that Swaps support froze stay frozen after that. Ask support about them.

After a stolen report

After a report signed with your backup key, payments in never reopen on this wallet. Move your money to a new address.
